I posted this on Local Items and had no response.

So, my sister is a retired doctor and has a drawer full of scrubs in good condition that she will bring down next summer or send to Support Bonaire, if anyone on Bonaire has a use for them.

Martin,
Scrubs are "uniforms" that are worn by nurses and doctors. They come in all different colors. They are pants with drawstings and pullover shirts.

Sterilizable clothing worn by doctors, nurses and all in surgery and other sterile hospital areas by those who 'scrub', i.e., wash to spec for the sterile area. The process is seen frequently by those who watch the US TV series 'MASH'. Also now worn by others also-- loose and comfortable.

That should off course be i understand now.

Thank you for explaining that to me. It meant as much as "operatiekleding" would mean to you...

Martin,
I have to ask. What is "operatiekleding"?

Now I know what TLC meant when they sang "I don't want no scrubs"... What would you need used hospital garments for? bg

operatiekleding = scrubs

As Linnea said, if the staff buy their own, this could be less expensive. If the hospital buys, it could be less expensive. And they are comfortable, lightweight, very casual clothes for anyone.

Could someone, Martin? Bas? translate this message into Dutch for me so I can send it to the hospital in English and Dutch. Thanx.

Linnea:

"Mijn zuster is een gepensioneerd dokter en ze heeft een la vol met operatiekleding die ze volgend jaar juni meewil nemen voor jullie. Ze kan de kleding ook via 'Support Bonaire' toezenden, als jullie, de tandartsenpraktijk of de huisartsen deze kunnen gebruiken."
