Vanavond op Nederland 1, bij Felderhof Ontmoet:

Uitzending: maandag 14 oktober 2002, NED 1 - 21.00 uur
Herhaling: dinsdag 15 oktober 2002, NED 1 - 09.50 uur

In English:

This is a dutch TV program made by a presenter who has personal encounters with remarkable people. Tonight's show will be about Anton Veldkamp, a former photographer and (war-)reporter who has given up travel and now lives in a small hut on a beach on Bonaire.

Does anyone know him?

Great show, and a wonderful piece of advertising for Bonaire throughout. "It's the most beautiful island I know"... This coming from a man who has been to 82 countries in his life.
Martin, Henk, others, did you see it? I believe his hut by the sea is near the saltplanes, am I right? I think I've seen it, it's where my picture of the overturned rowingboat was taken.

*sigh* Our PBD is back in full force now...

Hello Marc,

I have seen it. It was nice to see all the sights. The only thing I couldn't figure out was the coast line when they were fishing in the boat "sloep" and went to Klein Bonaire. I think those beaches were at West Punt Curacao! I find it strange that I can't remember ever seeing him. Although if you see where he lives it is not that strange.

But when seeing the blue water and gotomeer!!

Sigh hmmmm. ..................... ••••
wish I was there, especially with this weather here. :(

Henk

Henk, you mean the shot which looked like a bay with rather steep cliffs and a couple of houses on top? I figered it was Kaya Gob N Debrot at first, but I couldn't place those 3 white observatories you saw in the back. Now that you mention it, you're right! They obviously didn't get a "high up" shot of Bonaire so they fit one in of Curaçao. They will air an interview with Jacob Gelt Dekker on the 28th of this month, that they obviously shot at the same time.

Could it have been up a Playa Frans? There are a 2 or 3 houses up on a cliff (around Nukove area) just before you come down into the fishing boat beach area. Of course, I didn't see the show so I'm only going by the very short description you gave.

No, it were too many houses and boats. First I thought it was Sabadeco, but the beach was to big.

But is was just a shot, there was nothing mentioned that this was Bonaire. So all the "no-no's" would not recognize this as Curacao.

Hey, maybe we'll see shots of Bonaire in the show with Gelt Dekker ;-)

Pity... I used to have a capture card, but that was 2 pc's ago :). If I have time, I'll see if I can come up with some way to make a few captures.

Marc,

If you have problems with the capturing, just let me know. I have the show on tape and can create an MPEG file from it.

As a follow up on the show 2 weeks ago, tonight:

Aflevering 7: Jacob Gelt Dekker

Uitzending: maandag 28 oktober 2002, NED 1 - 21.00 uur
Herhaling: dinsdag 29 oktober 2002, NED 1 - 09.50 uur
