The hash house harriers has nothing to do with drugs. It is a world wide drinking club with a running problem. Started in Kuala Lumpa in 1937, so well established.

Not much response from Hashers. Nevertheless I am now in Bonaire and will be wearing some form of Hash House Harrier T shirt. If you see me, just say On On and I will recognise the Hash call. Honest.

Very interesting, Trevor. I will admit that I first thought you were pulling my leg :-)

I then educated myself.

Enjoy your time in BON and maybe you will find another Hasher :-)

Hi Trevor,
A Canadian hasher here, I'll be back on island in a week. How long are you on island for and which is your home hash? We may know some fellow hashers from abroad.
I had a plan to start a Bonaire hash and will possibly do so before the year ends. I have recieved a strong interest with some locals already and I believe that the group will be successful.

Now Kiv~Kobi Would I do that. Hashers don't pull peoples legs, we are just honest fun loving beer drinking guys. Trust me i'm a hasher. And look, now there's a posting from Madame Flash from Canada. Looks like there could be a hash on Bonaire before the year is out.

Hi Madame Flash Good to hear from you. I will be on Bonaire until 21 December staying at Bonaire Exclusief #20. My local number is 7888005. My daughter and son in law arrive on 17 November for two weeks, and they are also hashers. I am a co-founder of the Malaga Hash in southern Spain. The other founders are Wobbly Bob, Foreskin and Flakey, all international hashers and been to many Interhash meetings. We all used to be with Mijas until we formed the Malaga kennel in 2002. Flakey has now gone back to Mijas. Let's try and have an inaugural run whilst my daughter and son in law are here. If we could that would be great.

Come on you BT people, the plan is on. Get out your trainers, and get in training. Four beers a day is a good start!!!! Don't hesitate to call me about a 'training' schedule, which will include exercising your face muscles so you do not strain them with laughing too much. On ON to the first Bonaire Hash.

Hello Again!
I should be able to arrange a run/outing during the time your family members are on-island. Will only take a few posters to display and some phone calls in order to round up some fun people, aside from those already eager to start. As you know the more the merrier!
I will be contacting you next week.

Madame Flash

trevor, remember, four beers on bonaire should be easy...the beers are small. i just heard about some sporting event in australia...i think it might have been a two-day volleyball tournament. to cut down on rowdyism they have placed a limit on how much beer you can have in a day...the limit is now 24 cans a day or 48 for the tournament....gotta love those aussies.

Hi Madame Flash I look forward to meeting you and I feel confident we will have a hash in the next few weeks, even if there are only the four of us. I have already told my daughter and son in law to bring their trainers. By the way, do you know Two Jugs. I think he was from Edmonton. I know I have met several from Edmonton at Interhash.
For BT members who are not hashers, Madame Flash is a Hash name, as indeed is Lee Marvin. It is sometimes best not to ask how a hasher got a particular name!!!!!!

I am VERY intrigued by this thread. RA, Meryl we could have been hashers the other weekend. I just packed the wrong shoes!!!

Can we be hashers if we fancy wine/liquor vs. beer?
I need to do more research and then let's pick our names!

Hi Kiv One important point - you have no say in the choice of name. You are given a name which the other hashers think is appropriate for you. It can take several 'runs' before an appropriate name pops up and you get christened.

Well, it happened. There is now a Bonaire Flamingo Hash on the world hash scene. Yes, 10 turned up, four previous hashers (three from Malaga, Spain and one from Edmonton, Canada) and six virgin hashers. It was a good start and everybody appeared to enjoy themselves. We hope to have another one in two weeks time. We are trying to work out the best day for hashing on Bonaire.
Thanks to everyone who turned up to be part of hashing history. On On to the next one and I hope to see YOU there.

Last night HHH event had an international flare with people from Spain, Canada, US and Bonaire. We had runners and walkers, young and old. Since we were first timers, we didn’t know what to expect but it turned out to be a fun social event. Now that I know a little more about HHH I will try to recruit some fun loving people to join us for the next event.

As the hare this week I gained a different perspective on the event. Although the course was not as physically challenging as last week, the course had many twists and turns, check points and even a few false trails. That made it another fun event.

Tonight we bid farewell to a couple of adventurous CIEE students. They were front-runners in all the events, brought a lot of enthusiasm and we thoroughly enjoyed their camaraderie.

New comers or vacationers, whether walkers, joggers or runners, are encouraged to come out and join in the fun of the Bonaire Flamingo Hash House Harriers. On On

Do you anticipate a run the next Wednesday too? The 23rd? I have been all over the world, barely missing hash runs all my life. Maybe I'll finally find one. And what is the lower end of the age limit on these? Do you have to be drinking age or are teenagers welcome? Have two boys, 14 and 16.

Lee, we truly missed your wit and sense of humor and overall jovial good nature last night.

There were only walkers at last night’s event. There were two new yacht people with a lot of enthusiasm that participated, every marker they shouted On On. At the end, while in the circle they thought they had to sing a song, so they busted out singing a lumberjack song. LOL It was then pointed out that while in the circle a selected song was sung to them.

After the close of the circle we went to Paradise Moon for drinks and dinner.
