I will be bringing a strawberry and blueberry dessert and if you need anything else, just let me know.
I went to the old thread and copied Corney's message here in hopes to keep everything in one thread.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone!!!!

All are welcome from 11 am on. Will plan on eating early afternoon. We have grill, plates, silverware, cups, napkins. We will do much like Jake and Linda do and supply ice, some cold drinks, bottled water. Also will have hamburgers and rolls. I realize there are vegetarians coming so will also supply a bean salad and the no mayo spicy potato salad. We will send out directions via e-mail to those already planning to come. If you were not on the original list, please e-mail and I will send complete directions. I will be gone July 20-27 with no computer access. address is 108 Allen Road, Bow, NH BYOB we will have a little beer here. Rain does not cancel as we will just move inside.
Hope to see you all soon. Corney

Hey, I hope Darlene's willing to share some of that corn!

Dan and I will be there. We just spent the evening making roasted red pepper hummous and a great Thai cucumber salad. And they're all vegetarian! :)

We're looking forward to seeing everyone!

Faith

Hey - there better be pictures! You people bragging about getting together with the BT gurus (Jake, Linda, Dan, & Faith) and here we sit wishing we could join you. Let's see, if I were coming, I would bring BUTTER FOR THE CORN!! And maybe some zucchini cobbler. Really! It tastes just like apple cobbler, honest!! Have a blast, we'll be thinking of you!

It definitely was a blast! And Jake & Cecil and a couple of other folks were definitely running around with cameras, so I suspect there will indeed be pictures, assuming Bas & Yana didn't manage to drench the cameras with the water guns... :)

Thanks, Corney Ann, for hosting! and thanks to all who brought food (especially the vegetarian stuff -- much appreciated by us veggie-types!). Sorry we bugged out early, but we did have a great time...

Faith

The food was indeed excellent, as was the company. Pictures and commentary can be found at:

http://www.oldbonairetalk.com/BT-BBQ-20020804/

(warning - the larger images, to retain quality, are about 150KB each - people on dial-up connections should expect slow load times)

In attendance were:

Corney Ann & John Carter, our wonderful hosts
Darlene & Tom Ellis
Dan & Faith Senie (co-operators of the WebCams)
Susan & Geoff Feldman
Jake, Linda, Yana & Bas Richter
Denise & Ted Kacavas
Bob & Peggy (not BTers, but Bonaire experienced)
Cecil Berry
Lea Coolens
Clay & Leigh Lansdown

I think I got everyone...

It was a very nice day in Bow, New Hampshire - beautiful sun, great & quiet location, and ample space for the kids (big & small) to relax and play in.

And I'd like to thank Corney Ann for letting me invade her kitchen for over an hour as I prepared my contribution to the BBQ :-)

Jake

Hard to believe it's over already. Gosh, I sure miss the hardwood forests - saw a glimpse in some of the pictures. Jake, I know why Cecil purposely stayed out of the viewfinder. He and I are so much alike, you know. He's just worried about all those pesky marriage proposals that come pouring in when his pic ends up on the web! Looks like you all had fun. Thanks for sharing your day!

We had a great time, too - thanks, Corney for having us!

We had an interesting ride home - for some reason, 93 S was backed up for miles, a couple of state police cars went zooming by us at one point but by the time we got past them, there didn't seem to be anything but a very mild fenderbender to explain it.

Tom Ellis and Geoffrey and I amused ourselves by looking at the people in cars next to us ("She just popped open a can of beer, didn't she?" "Is that a FOOT hanging out the drivers window up there?")

After the great time seeing and talking to all the great BT people around here and Jake and Linda, not even bad traffic could ruin our day!

Thanks everyone for coming to the BBQ. The company and food contributions were great. It is always a fun time when the BT'ers get together. We wish more of you could have come.

We learned that Jake likes to eat while cooking so we left munchies for him while he cooked those yummy peppers, onions and susages. We will have to do a recipe swap on the Cumminity Chat thread.

I started the thread BBQ recipe swap on the Community Chat thread. Please excuse my typos above.

Nice time was had, I see. I waited for the dial-up connection to render all the photos and captions and it was worth it. Nostalgic feelings for Bonaire and for New England. (We've seen you before, Cecil!)

It was great to see everyone and thanks Corney for having it at your place.
Lee enjoyed it - her first time out since the surgery on her arm. She said to tell you folks she's sorry she cratered so quickly, but her pain meds wore off.

Hey Darlene!
Good to see you made it back!

Denise requested your recipe for that fruit dessert over on the other thread, by the way.

How was your time up in the mountains?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By DARLENE ELLIS on Saturday, August 10, 2002 - 11:29 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

I had a great time at the mountains and I made it up there in record time and before dark! I saw my very first mama moose and baby moose!!! Way Cool!!! It is amazing how four short days away can put you so far behind! I still haven't even read BT yet except for this thread which I asked Tom to email me! :)
My dessert is Strawberry yougart with cinnimon mixed in to taste. Then layer strawberries, blueberries, the yougart and granolla. I used the granola cereal with raisins. Enjoy! It is a great dessert when dieting!! :)
