From back on an earlier thread, we started to do some fun "guess the location on Bonaire" picture posts of some of our favorite sites.

I leave this open to ANYONE who wants to post their favorite landscape pics.

I'll start off with this one.....

Please feel free to add others, with or without hints (we don't want to make it too easy after all) :)

I think the fact that Bas is looking at the dog in the picture and not the lovely lady is pretty funny!!!! LOL! Nice shot, tho. Who is the lovely lady, Bas??

We have been to both spots of the "guess" photos, but I am sooo bad at names of the places! I know someone will come up with the exact locale identifications, however. I like this game...get to see nice photos! Carole

They might be too easy for us locals, Michael. I know the first 2. But I think I can make it interesting for you... a difficult one. I'll be very impressed if you guess this one right:-)
?

Hi Carole,

The lovely lady is my sister in law. Look up a Bonaire map and find the name!!

This is defintely fun...I even tried resting my "mouse" over the photos to see if you all had "named" the pics in your systems with the actual names of the locations, but ya'll are too smart for that! LOL. I have no idea where the last shot is, Bas, but is certainly looks like a very interesting spot to explore! Carole

PS I guess I was "cheating", right? Slap my hand!!

HAHAHA yer!!
It is a nice spot (or should I say trail??;-) You can find the native orchid there in the wild. It also has great wiews along the way and a pretty & shady resting place. There's another cool thing about it that I can't say yet;-)This was a difficult one to make it more interesting for Michael Gaynor to play.
So, who's got more of these pictures? I have a few more but they are over 50kb and I don't know how to resize them. Need to sort the scanner out too to get some more.

Bas- Sorry I've been away from the thread for so long.... you've posted some good ones. My guess for the one right above here is outside the church in Rincon. If not, well, no clue.

Michael- of course you're allowed to play. You just need to use your best judgement of fair sportsmanship to determine when to let us non-islanders come up with an answer. :)

Here's an easy one for Bas and Michael.... might be a bit challenging for visitors to come up with the name....

Boy....I can't wait until the identity of the beach locales is posted...they look soooo tempting and beautiful! I am ready to hit each of them right now!

Love the shot of the Mini's, Bas! I still think of you each day on my way home from work as I pass the BMW car dealership with all colors of new Cooper Mini's lined up in the front of the showroom right alongside the road. I will have to take my digital with me and take some pics for you, OK? They are so cute...I want to stop and check them out one day, too.

Can't wait to see where those gorgeous beaches are...will put them on our list of places to go on our next trip to Bonaire...for sure!! Carole

Michael, Linda or Jake...can you guys help out with more specific directions than I could provide?? We go by instinct at this point and our own landmarks, etc. We love going up to Rincon anyway, but always make it a point to stop off at Prisca's and load up on some ice cream. It can be purchased at a couple of places elsewhere in town, but it is more fun to actually go to Prisca's establishment and visit other places in Rincon, too..including The Rose Inn! We just love Rincon.

Can any of you help Seb out??? Thanks! Carole

Seb, you'll see the sign when you drive into rincon coming from Goto Lake (via Dos Pos)

Michael, I thinks your pic is taken in Tolo north of Ol Blue. Richt, the first one with doggy swimming is Sorobon across from Sorobon beach resort next to the reef. But the second one with 4 dogs is not at Sorobon.

Carole, sure... some mini pictures always welcome:-) The green building is across the intersection at the gas station in Rincon.

Ok, here's my quesses. First one from Michael is over by the idian inscriptions at Onima.
Henk's one is Playa Chikitu in the park. But it's taken from the opposite side of where you park the car. Carole, windsock/donkey beach? Kay's first one is difficult, only guessing the general erea...between Playa Funchi and Playa Benge up in the park? The 2nd I don't know for sure either Playa Funchi??

Hi, Bas! Yup, that was taken at Windsock Beach. Love it there. Have not yet been over to the Sorobon beach, but it looks gorgeous. Joe and I will have to go over next trip...we can visit with Niki and Bob, too..and Chris and Teresa, if they travel with Niki and Bob next year.

I thought one of the shots was near Ole Blue...I was close, right?!

I've been away for the weekend and immediately over 20 postings. For Bas his first picture I know it is at the south east side. At one of the little bridges.

Your second picture is a bit harder? My guess: Little Switserland. (Behind Radio Nederland Wereldomroep)

The other pictures I leave for the others to guess, I have not seen all the names yet.

Here is a new one, does you know where these two french angel fishes and two trunk fishes lives?

Hi Henk,

Your first guess is not correct:-( It's on the south east end of lac bay. Directly opposite of sorobon beach resort. Enter the water next to the north part of the shrimp farm fence and walk across the water. It's a great spot to take your dogs. No people to bother, fresh ocean breeze, great place to look for shells while the dogs roam, watch the windsurfers in the bay or just stare out over the ocean and watch the surf come in.

On the second however you are on the spot!!! Very good, didn't figure anyone could guess it right. A beautiful trail that will take you coast to coast straight over the mountain. Starts above hilltop and cuts straight through to piedra cruz on the road to rincon (southern part of Bolivia) where they used to mine what looks like chalk. The place where you see the east coast for the first time (coming down a hill) driving towards rincon on the main road

AJAJAJ Henk, now you are really making things hard!! Can only throw a wild guess at that as it can be many places. Slagbaai?

Bas

It's in WASHINGTON PARK. We have some beautiful pictures and video of them. We filmed them from above the water and it came out beautiful.

Bas, about the first picture I should have known because I have seen your car there numerous times when I left Sorobon and drove around "South".

I will look at home if I can find more 'puzzle-pictures'.

Seb,
I really thought that first picture was taken from the Calabas restaurant at the Divi Flamingo. The stone wall, the little beach area and the cement pier all lead me to beleive that that was where it was taken. The cement pier may appear to be shorter than the Divi's, but it sure fooled me!!:)
