Please what is allowed to enter Bonaire? Last time I brought rum back from ANU the immigration office in SJU told me I was only allowed one bottle and in Bonaire the customs officer got upset with my 4 bottles but allowed it in. Soon I go to the DR and want to bring back some Brugal Rum. Thanks.

Call the office at Douane and ask them. 717-4632. There are also other numbers in the phone book.

the duty free limit for a resident is one bottle. this does not prevent you from bringing in more. just have the receipts for your "overstock' in hand. i travel frequently to venezuela and it really depends on the customs officer. sometimes i am allowed to bring in some extra without a problem. sometimes you pay for the extra .. it is a tax -i can't recall the % based on the purchase value .. it isn't that much. if you have the receipts it is not a problem..

Ann, when we come to Bonaire we bring vodka and tequilla (can't take Bonaire's Chiuauia! brand. We bring it in "flasks" and pack it in our luggage in ziplocks....
Never had a problem.
