Foreword

As mentioned on the cover, I have been actively engaged in wastewater matters since before my retirement from the hotel business in 1987. Both in landscaping as well as treatment and hydraulic dispersion for our wastewater's.

I have been in wastewater irrigation and management and from the beginning further have been trained from not only years of experience but experts from abroad.

As an environmentalist I deplore the current manor in which our wastewater are be handled. For my liking too much is finding its way into our reefs.

I have chosen to write this booklet to you home owners who need to understand the contents of this small booklet, I am novelist and tend to write with a bit of humor.

So enjoy, .

Thanks Captain Don.

Captain Don's Habitat is one of the few resorts to have their own sewage treatment plant and the grounds are kept nice and green with the recycled water.

There is another possibility for disposing of human waste that would keep even effluent off the reef: composting toilets.

These have come a long way from the 1970's and there are currently several models available that are easy for homeowners, and even commercial enterprises, to switch over to.

Given that the future plan is to eliminate garden watering with effluent along the coast, this could be the best solution.
