I am trying to get in touch with Michael at ChatNBrowse. If you could get me in touch with him or (even better) if Michael reads this could you please pm me?

Never got your message. Richard now has an e mail address. richard.beady@gmail.com I can't promise that he will answer, however...

It is ALWAYS best to call the restaurant directly, where the hostess stands next to the phone, and with the reservation book (2 things Richard's not doing if he's online). Call Tues-Sun, between 5:30 - 9:30pm eastern time. At least if you speak to the hostess in person, you can find out other dates, etc., if your first choice isn't available (something that would take anyone else trying to do this for you several steps, in which time you could lose all of your options). From the US: 011-599-717-5263.

So, was I unreasonable and insane for having followed suggestions posted in BT about contacting Michael to get hold of someone at Richard's? Just curious...

I think you are correct in that Richard will still have issues with the 21st century. He has a lap top, an internet connection, but you know the expression, you can lead a horse to water. I am still happy to contact him for anyone who needs the help. Just a side note about Richard: I stay open on holidays and last x mas, Richard showed up with a complete tray of turkey, stuffing, etc. for the ladies who work for me. They always were helping him with his e mail, etc. He is the first one to donate to local causes, kids, old folks, etc. I guess what I am saying is that we overlook his lack of use of the internet, etc!

No Leo, anyone who refers to my possessing "sanity" is just pulling our legs (it's an old BT joke). Sanity left the building long ago, and left no forwarding address. However, I was just offering practical advice re: reservations for the Pier Table at Richards, knowing him and his staff personally, and knowing the way his restaurant works (the reservation book stays with the hostess next to the only phone, and the phone is answered only during their business hours). Both Michael and Richard are extremely generous and will (in theory) do back-flips to help any & everyone; sometimes it's just easier to go straight to the source.

Goodness no Leo. My post was not intended to offend you. I simply agree that a direct phone call would yield the best results.
