Yep, that's pretty much the whole question.

One site said 2 liters of distilled beverages, 2 liters of wine.

The continental international flights specialist (yeah, I know) told me that I could bring 90 liters of wine! I liked that answer better.

Does anyone know the drill?

With all due respect. Why?

Bonaire is not a Muslim country where alcohol has to be drank in secret.

Most of the supermarkets have large selections of wines, spirits & beers as well as traders such as T.I.S. and the Antillean Wine Company.

Prices are cheaper than Europe too.

Jason,
With the limiting baggage weights of the airlines these days you may want to consider getting any of your livations there on the island. As Anthony mentioned the prices are very reasonable and selection is even better. Besides you have to try Amstel Bright with lime. It is pure Caribbean nectar as far as we are concerned. The best selection from the stores is on Saturday for all items and also try the Antillean Wine Company as Anthony mentioned above. (Located 2 blocks from the Warehouse grocery) Their wine selection is really good, reasonably priced and they take credit cards...

Regards,
Greg

however, if you're flying through san juan and can hit the duty free store you can save quite a bit over island prices. bacardi was under $8/liter in san juan and about $20 on bonaire. i agree that you shouldn't overload your luggage tho. wine prices on bonaire are very good and there is a great selection.

I'm the fine wine manager for a wholesale distribitor of wine/spirits.

Several of my supplier companies gave me cases of champagne as a wedding present last week, and we're talking Clicquot Ponsardin and Mumm Cordon Rouge. It's our honeymoon, and we'd like to bring a bit of it with us.

So, I'm sure they have great selection and fair prices, but it wouldn't be champagne for free.

I think I found my answer online.

Jason:
Don't know about Continental, we fly AA and bring 2 liters of wine with us...have had no problem. Also, the wine we bring is less expensive than what we have found on island.

Freddie,
I didn't know they delivered too! Are they online to make a "pre" order before getting to BON? BTW, they have a wine tasting every month and we had the opportunity to do this on the last trip in January and it was well worth the cost. A great way to meet fellow travelers, winos and divers.

The tastings are on the second Saturday of each month (except June & July) from 7-9pm. That should mean that the next one is tomorrow.

Greg, yes they are online. Just pick out what you want and email them your choices. If they don't have something they will make suggestions. And they will deliver to your hotel prior to your arrival, so you are well stocked before you get on island!

Bonaire Gift also has online ordering I believe, but I've never used it with them. I just go in person and get great suggestions from deepak:-)
