Uh Oh.........We are in the final stages of organizing for our trip. Two weeks to go. Linda has been out shopping for last-minute items and I have been frantically trying to think of things that I absolutely CANNOT live without even for a week on Bonaire. I have come up with 2 biggies: Pepsi and Little Debbie Snack Cakes. Panic has started to set in. Small beads of sweat are breaking out on my wrinkled brow. I have become paranoid and suffering withdrawl-like symptoms. I have been hoarding my existing supplies. What to do?

Please tell me that I can get Pepsi and Little Debbies' on Bonaire. Pepsi made with sugar would be a HUGE bonus! If not, I think I can smuggle a case of bottles in my checked bags........

Linda and Jim

You may have to visit a few stores to find Pepsi but it can be done. Supplies are never certain and can vary from store to store. As for Little Debbie snack cakes I don't think I have ever seen them there though I must admit they are not something I would be looking for.

We looked for the Debbie Snack cakes when we took the kids to Bon over New Year's. We couldn't find them. We did find Coke at Cultimara and Pepsi at Sand Dollar.

You should be able to find Pepsi fairly easily (Warehouse had it recently); alas, Warehouse no longer has Little Debbie snack cakes. They were such a treat and sold instantly, I don't know why they stopped bringing them in?
You'll probably have to bring those with you if you positively can't live without them!

I like Little Debbie as much as the next person, but compared to a molten chocolate cake from the Last Bite Bakery...sorry Debbie :-).

It sounds like I had better make room in my checked bags for Pepsi and Little Debbies, then. I was hoping to find the Pepsi variety made with sugar down there as it brings back childhood memories, but it sounds like most of the grocery products come from the US anyway.

Maybe I could help pay for part of the trip by taking orders for Little Debbies and delivering them.

BTW.....what is this moletn chocolate cake you speak of, Cecil? If it will clog up my arteries as fast as the Little Debbies, I'm in!

The molten lava chocolate cake at the Last Bite Bakery is to die for!!!! We are addicted to it in our house. I plan on having a piece ready for Wes when he arrives, since I am getting to the island before him. You just must stop there and buy some!!!! There is nothing like sitting on the tailgate eating some of that cake between dives. Geeze...now I'm going to be thinking about it all day! :-)

Sorry Jeanine.

Linda/Jim you should rethink the Pepsi packing. You should be able to get it there and if one breaks open in your luggage it would not be pretty. Look on the table.

Pepsi Sunset

I swear that bottle dated from the 60's.

It's possible, a lot of less wasteful countries recycle their glass soda/beer bottles the old fashioned way - cleaning and sanitizing them and then using them again! I got some beers in Cozumel that looked like I was about the 1,000th person to drink from the bottle. Clean though. :-)

Your right Matthew I did not think of that. Yes that particular bottle has been through a bit. As proof.

Pepsi Sunset

You know I had at least 10 pictures with that bottle and not one of them the bottle was totally visible. Oh well, at least I was using good rum with it. Sorry no Little Debbies and sunset.

Most of the Pepsi I see here is Venezuelan. Cane sugar sweetened.

When I buy Coke, I check the label. With a little digging, you can always find Coke with sugar instead of corn syrup as well.

I would love to find some Coke made with sugar. In a glass bottle.

Haven't had that since I was a kid. :-)

As I am sitting here drinking my first Pepsi of the day, I, too am lusting after the taste of Pepsi made with sugar, from a glass bottle. Occasionally, we can find Mexican Pepsi, and I buy up all I can afford (and can smuggle past Linda).

Looks like I'll have to load up on Little Debbies!
