First trip to Bonaire for my son and I to dive in Bonaire this weekend, staying at Sand Dollar. Can you help us with these questions?

1) Will our AT&T or Sprint phones work in Bonaire?

2) Can I buy Diet Dr Pepper (I know, a bad habit!)

3) Where can I rent an underwater housing for a Nikon D70 DSLR?

4) Does Sand Dollar have Wifi?

Thanks and welcome any other diving or dining suggestions too!

I will try...

1) Will our AT&T or Sprint phones work in Bonaire? AT&T- YES Sprint - Have no idea, but check with AT&T about their international rates or plans. Phone rentals are available @ Chat & Browse located in front of Sand Dollar.

2) Can I buy Diet Dr Pepper (I know, a bad habit!) Good Luck, it all depends on what the boat brings. I would not count on it!

3) Where can I rent an underwater housing for a Nikon D70 DSLR? Not sure, since I would rent this before I come down and test it at home.

4) Does Sand Dollar have Wifi? Not sure, since we always rent a house that has it.

The diving is the easiest on this side of the rock. There are over 100 boat and shore dive sites. I prefer shore dives, since I can do them at my convenience 24/7. Some boats can be cattle boats but do not let that stop you.

My favorite dining places are in order:
Dinners------
1. Mona Lisa - Lamb Chops or whatever Douwe cooks
2. Wil's (Tied for #1) - Smoked Marlin, if available or anything Wil says.
3. Patagonia - Go hungry - meat lovers only
4. Pasa Bon - Pizza - the fish pizza is a treat.
5. Donna & Giorgio - True Italian plus Donna's special pizza is my favorite. Open your mind.
Lunch--------
1. Bongos Beach Bar - Everything
2. Kon Tiki - worth the drive
3. Lion's Den - Kirk will take care of you

There are a few new places that others are raving about on BT. We will be trying those out in about six weeks. Enjoy your trip, we have for the pass 14 times in 10 years. Ric

Ric, Lion's Den is not open for lunch, only dinner. Been that way for past few years.

Also just got an email from SD that they just closed the pool for repairs and dont know when it will be open again but they have made arraingments with Buddy Dive to use their pool. Not that I had any intention of useing a pool when the Carribean is 50 ft away...

William,
We're at Sand Dollar 'til this coming Friday; Maybe we'll see ya; will be watching for someone with (at least) one red sneaker! I don't think you will be able to actually get wifi from your room at Sand $, but you definately get it form here in front of Chat'n'Browse. Of course, you probably know this already, since you arrived early this morning.
Chet (& Jean)
