Hi ,
My name is Julie and I am planning on moving to Bonaire at the end of August from Minnesota! I am really looking forward to it, but I have a lot of questions. Is there anything anyone can tell me to make sure things go smoothly. I also have a very small dog I would like to bring with me. Thanks for the help.

hey julie, i'm planning on moving there @ beg of sept and the only thing i can tell you is i've found a lot of houses for rent. they appear to be very nice houses for around 700/mo. generally speaking most islands will quarantine your dog for at least 4 weeks. in terms of houses, go to some of the real estate websites under long term. long term doesn't necessarily mean 6 mo or a year.

julie i found this in another message:

The dog must have a health certificate listing all vaccinations. We don't have rabies on Bonaire so vaccinations
are very important. The major problem is really the transportation. Some airlines like AirJamaice will not accept
animals for transport at all. Others like most American carriers will not accept animals for cargo during the hot
summer months. Some will allow only 1 cat (or very small dog) in a carrier in the cabin during flight - others only a
cat. And they may not guarantee your animal will be allowed in the cabin at all-no reservations. ALM use to allow
pets only if the captain of the plane approved it. I don't know DCE's policy.
