Hmmm, nice pics.
Went diving yesterday a bit north of Bopec and we saw about 14 barracuda on the dive. Also a bunch of crevalle jacks and a nice spotted spiny lobster. Very cool dive. Walked the shoreline for about 600 yards looking for a passage through the 'barrier' reef which is extremely dense there. Finally found a nice lil channel and marked it onshore with a double marker. Super nice corals down there.. pretty big stuff!! Went south at 70-80ft till 1300psi and returned at 30-40ft.. total dive time was a cool 81 minutes.
Could not grab one of the cuda though LoL so mr fisherman has put a nice 9lbs. cudaduda aside for us.

Bas,

Are you talking about the "taylor maide" dive site north of the drive around at Bopec? Its a great dive, easy entry

I have no idea Gregg. When you drive down the hill towards the sea after you passed Bopec there is a salina/lake on the right. For a few hundred yards the road is between the salina and the sea. That's the stretch. The only section in the road thats right next to the sea. North of there the road goes up again.
After we found a passage it was easy. The passage was narrow.. about 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep. There was some dead coral sticking out but they formed nice handle bars to pull your self out and in the channel. Not much room for kicking fins. To make sure we could find the channel again in the way back we have put up 2 markers (one behind the other.. you'll have to line them up and swim in.. can't miss) One stick has an old inner tube over the top and the one in front of it is lower with a white plastic bottle stuck on top... you can see it from the road also.
I don't think we are talking about the same entry. But I do think yours is in the same stretch of coastline more north. Maybe not by much.. I had not looked more north.. was happy with the opening I found. I started looking immediately down the hill where the road turns right.
I'll be going back there soon :-)) anyone wanna tag along?...
BTW I did this dive with a visiting BT-er (with 200+ dives on Bon.)and his friend. So far we've done 3 dives .. all new and great dives for him. Tomorrow we get together again. Lots of fun diving with them as they're well experienced and very good on air. Then there are even more possiblities... ahhhhh bonaire's so cool!! I hope he will write a report!
