Hi,
Because we've had so many bad experiences in Miami airport and with ALM (lost divebag) we decided to go through Caracas. We'll be spending a few days there before diving in Bonaire, Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay? Tips of any sort would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Hope

do you mean Caracas, Venezuela? Or Curacao, Neth. Antilles. If it is Venezuela, e mail me....as for Curacao, there are dozens of places on their web site. Also, to avoid Miami, you can connect through Atlanta, of course depending on where you are originating from....

Hi again
I just came across this posting, and while my posting may be kind of late it still seems appropriate.
Any one thinking of spending a few days in Caracas should first visit the US State Dept.web page at http://travel.state.gov/venezuela.html
Also, we spent some time with a couple from CA. who "spent a few days there" on their way home. They wrote us and said it was TERRIBLE.I hope I`m not to late with this comment. Mickey

Also, right now with the terrible flooding and heartbreaking situation, it is definetly not advisable to travel to Ven.

Speaking of the terrible situation in Venezuela, is any of that unusually rainy weather having an impact on Bonaire? Or are you out of range?

Are the floods in Venezuela affecting food shipments to Bonaire?

Most of our food comes from other sources...we do get some fresh fruit and veggies from there, but so far we have had ample suppy. Hopefully, the floods will recede and we can help our neighbors in South America. For all the members of the Bonairean community: The veneqzuelean consulate will accept donations of clothes, food, etc. Call them first to find where they want it deposited.
