There cann't be a Bonaire stay without a party and / or dinner / BBQ, so there is one.....

Bas volanteraly put his livingroom and terrace open for a BBQ on may 19-th. Bas takes care for the acco, a BBQ (only the "stove"), plates, knife and forks, coolers with ice, juice and a few dotted cleaners. :)

The party starts at 17.00, and will last until Bas kicks us out.. There is a possabilaty to dive the reefcam before the BBQ.

So be there and let us know if you are comming and what you will take with you.

I'll be there with a party of 4...

Linda & I will be there. Hopefully sans children (anyone wanting to see them can walk the tenth of a mile up the street to our place :-) ).

And folks wanting to dive the ReefCam as part of the BBQ (prior to it) can do so through our place. Heck - we may even join you if we don't have to prep the BBQ :-)

Jake

Unfortunatley Sherry and I leave on the 19th. Is there anyway to move it to the 18th? %^)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Martin de Weger on Tuesday, April 23, 2002 - 4:07 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Carole, We need soft drinks (other than juice), beer, Meat, fish, sauces, a lot of humour, ... and all the things I forget....

(Bas, what am I forgetting???)

Barry, the problem is that on the 18-th a lot of people arrive (approx. 13) and I doubt they would come on the evening they arrive. But if there are other ideas so Sherry and Barry are able to come, that's OK with me...

Linda & I will be providing beer & sodas for the BBQ, and are acting in a consulting capacity to Bas on logistics :-)

Hi Martin et all,

To make things a lil easier and save us all a lot of messages about who and what...how about we do it like this. I do shopping and preparing and you all do a contribution in the jar. Counting on 20 people I made up a list of stuff we will need which adds up to roughly NAF 200 / USD 112... that devided by 20 is not a whole lot :-)
So the list sofar includes:

1 case of 5 lbs. chicken drumsticks
1 case of 5 lbs. chicken wings
20 fish chops (dorado or wahoo)
3 bottles of coca cola
1 7-UP
plastics (plates & weapons)
3 white wine
2 red wine
marinade
can of fruit
1 bottle of rum
5 packs assorted juices
5 bags of ice

Jake is throwing in the beer. Missing in the list are the sauces and salad. Not sure what kinda sauce I should get as I never use any. And salad... thats really not my thing ;-) so if there are any volunteers to make salad(s) please raise your virtual finger. You can prepare it here before hand using utensils and bowls already here.
If any one misses their favorite drink/food on the list let me know or just bring it along.
To me it doesn't matter whether the party is on the 18th. or the 19th.

Are there any people already on the island and still here on the 19th. that may be missing this topic? Can't find that web page anymore you put up about who's here when.

Hip Hip Hooray, Bas and Martin and Jake! Thank you for putting this together! It will be a grand way to start the vacation, and to introduce our friends, first-timers to Bonaire!

Niki, you're welcome... Are you going to join us for a dive on the reefcam?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Niki Harris on Thursday, April 25, 2002 - 3:35 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Martin, I'll be checking with my buddies. It will be the day after traveling continuously for about 22 hours -- (for me 28 hours)...I hope we make it for the dive! We shall see... I guess you could supervise our orientation dive there, eh? (just kidding :-)

Count in two more for the BBQ. I love to cook, so I will plan on bringing at least one large salad, some $ for the jar and maybe a license plate for Bas. The dive before sounds good as well. Does anyone know the recommended size of letters for a sign for the Cams? I remember reading that once a long time ago....

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Martin de Weger on Thursday, April 25, 2002 - 10:58 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

Niki, I can arrange that, no problem.... :)

Diane, on the cam site under F.A.Q. is some info about the sizes...

CU all at Bas for the BBQ......

(only 2 day's......)

Niki, how many are your friends?

Diane, I got a Utah ski, greatest snow, '88 SL county, anything else Utah (cycle, trailer etc.) would be great! :-)

Jake, just a thought.. for those that can't make it.. would it be possible to feed my webcam through netmeeting or similar to yours onto bonairewebcams. Right now it's live streaming but maybe you can fiddle with it a bit to let it take shots. would need USB extension cord too.. might wanna get that regardless:-)

Bas,

There's no simple way to patch your USB camera into our system, unfortunately - or anything that far away for that matter. Sorry.

Jake

Bas, we are a party of four, probably already counted in your list if you're using Martin's chart (Teresa and Chris are not our kids :-) !)

& Bas, do you have the suite of Oregon license plates?

Martin, you're very resourceful, :-), so I don't doubt you could arrange the orientation... I will have to play it by ear based on how everyone feels on Sunday.

It's getting hard to concentrate on work and we have about 23 days left. And a big, creative job to complete.... gasp!

Niki, no problem, just let me know. I can be reached via the frontdesk of the hotel....

Bas, does your site has any live images from your cam??

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Bas on Thursday, April 25, 2002 - 7:26 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Niki, I have a '96 OR passenger with a tree on it.
Anything else Oregon would be great. Actually I'm done with US plates.. have at least one from all 50 states and DC. Still looking for a seemingly endless number of foreign plates. But will always accept another plate from a US state if it is different from the one(s) I already have.
Yes, I have looked at Martin's chart but I see quite a few on it that wont be there and I had not compared my list with Martin's chart.

Hi Martin,
Nope, just pics and some words. It's actually done by a friend in Holland. It's his site and he has put up some stuff about me along with other mini nutters in his friends section. HAA.. just thought... you might very well have seen this guy around... I think he works very very close to where you live.. Finalist.. drives a black Mini Van.. hence www.MIBV.. Man In Black Van

Wicked awesome fish kebabs! I'm salivating just thinking about them again. BTW - Bas, Barry Baker will be bringing down a replacement set of burners for my grill so that the whole grill surface can be used :-)

I will say I liked the coconut fish soup better than the goat coconut soup, though.

Jake

And I won't even get to attend. I may have to hold those burners hostage. For lets say... ONE MILLLLLLION DOLLARS(insert Dr. Evil laugh here) or at least a beer. My accomplice Bubbles (I shall call her... Minnie Me) [not really she's too cute for that] will contact you for the time and place to drop of the ransome...
