Thought this might be a great project for a Rotary Club to take on.. It is certainly a need that must be fulfilled and you could work in conjunction with the Bonaire chapter of the Rotary.

this an excerpt from the letter that we received.
"Attached is a flyer about the Rotary breakfast program ….. they try to raise more money. The program runs now for 18 months and more children have been added to the program, but money comes in slower. They need now about $45.000 a year and that is a lot of money for the little Bonaire Rotary Club….. but as you certainly can understand, they can’t stop.

Divi and Buddy since the beginning of the program ask their tourists to donate $1 per day of stay and now Rotary will approach again the other accommodations to do the same."

Any donation is more than welcome and deserves a big THANK YOU. On the flyer you can find the bank account of the Rotary Club Bonaire .

Yes, MCB is the Maduro Bank and located by Sand $ and in town on the other side of the street from the Lost Pinguin ---- and of course they can just sent it from their bank account in every country in the world .... it would be nice if they put by sender also BT , than Rotary knows where it is coming from.

My best friend on the island is in the Rotary and I can truly say this organization has done a lot over the years. Even before other groups started the Rotary was doing a lot of the events. It does not have a large membership. One Nov. when I was there I ended helping with the Xmas presents that were to be given out. The wife's were doing this and it all came out of their own pockets. Plus, at this time one of the wifes was a teacher in the elementery school and would try to take bake goods in so her kids would have something in the morning. Many times when I was there she would call and ask if I could go to the store and get something to bring to the school.
So any help - will make a big difference on the island.

If you are on island, and would like to donate money toward the cause without going to the bank, Brigitte at Coco Palm Garden has a donation box for the Rotary Breakfast Program. You can stop by and drop your donation in the box. She also said that she has a donation box for the Animal Shelter.
