I just love telling folks that I will be on Bonaire 14 days from tomorrow!! And then you get the "Bon-what?" and the puzzled look on their faces. "Never heard of it".

So.... since most people have never heard of the place, the only people that can share in my excitement are the folks on this board.

And I have put a lot of thought into this: The only thing worse than not being on Bonaire, is sitting at Flamingo airport on the day of your departure. Then you see the AJ flight come in and all the people getting off the plane. Those lucky folks are just starting their vacation! You are ending yours! How depressing....... That day is like clockwork - it always happens 7 days after I arrive on the island.

So.... I am excited about 14 days from tomorrow, but slightly depressed about 21 days from tomorrow......

Another thing that bugs me is when Ruth e-mails me about what a crappy days she is having, but goes on to say that after she does her mid-day snorkel, everything will be just fine...... Man, open my wound and pour a salt mound in it!! Keep it up, Ruth, and I may just leave your Krispy Kremes sitting on my counter at home :-)

Hi Dave. I'll be heading to Bonaire next Friday & get the "Bon-where" alot also. But not from my dive buddies!!!! Perhaps I'll see you @ Gibis on the 7th.

We may make it to Gibi's and we may not.....

While on Bonaire, there are only two appointments that I HAVE to keep: One is the dive orientation the morning after we arrive, and the second is the dreaded arrival at the airport the day of departure.

Other than those two "events", we pretty much take it one minute at a time. Whatever suits us at any particular moment is what the "plan" ends up being.

If I remember about the Tuesday night BT get together, we may show up. However, odds are, I'll forget about it.......

18 days for me. Unfortunatley i arrive late Tuesday night and leave on a Tuesday. Any other night to meet you folks at Gibi's? You all sound like a fun bunch.

Ok Dave, if this will make you feel any better, I didn't snorkel today. Just took a nap. Every day is Bonaire for me. Oh, and yesterday, when I did take my snorkel...after I got out, we had no water at the house (WEB was working on lines up the street). So, I went back & snorkeled some more, just biding my time.

david, what day are you arriving? we'll be there on the 8th. think we're on the same plane?

ruth, we've done the same thing when they've been working on the water lines (or when the power is out). just head back to the water and wait a while.
