I will arrive April 20 and cannot wait to get there. I have read so many good things about Bonaire and I can tell that I am going to have one of the best times of my life. A few weeks ago I was concerned about the crime postings but I don't think there is any where on the face of the earth without crime and the real deciding factor is how you approach life. I have never been afraid of uncontrollable things and I am not going to start now. I hope I see some of you good folks when I am there.

Rick, we just landed back home after a week at Bonaire (Sandollard) and I was pretty concern also about all the reports I had seen in here before my trip. I can happily report that I had the best trip so far with no incidents whatsoever, we did 6 shore dives plus 6 boat dives and left our truck with windows down (as sugested here) with no valuables inside. Enjoy your trip and by the way if you are in town and trying to make a decision on a place to eat, try GOBEY'S; it looks like nothing, but it is by far the best food and price in town.

If it's been said once on this website, it's been said a hundred times...don't leave anything valuable in your car (when shore diving especially, or anywhere) and use common sense! As someone else pointed out, I was floored by the number of rental cars i saw, with that big sticker across the dashboard "Do not lock car. Leave no valuables", and yup, you guessed it, the cars were locked and there was stuff clearly visible. Sure, no place is crime free and it's a shame, just use common sense and you'll be fine.
