Hello Victor,

Perhaps a little bit disappointing answer.
There is not much education at all on Bonaire. On the field of technical education I think there are just two possibilities:
1. Electro-technics, is set-up for students of age 16+ (FGB)
2. Car-technician, is supposed to be for students of about 12 - 16 years old. (VSBO)

Both studies are of relative low-level, and discussable quality, at least compared to Dutch standards. I really have no idea of the quality of Venezuelan technical schools, but it will easily be better then the Bonairian schools. All education on Bonaire is of relatively low-level, although there are lots of teachers doing the best they can, but there is an absolute lack of interest with the students. This is one of the major problems of Bonaire seen for our future.

Of course this is just my opinion, based upon talks with a lot of people trying to give education on Bonaire. Perhaps you will find other posts later on in this thread, that will tell you other things.

When I may give an advice:
finnish you education in your home-country, and move THEN to Bonaire, you will have a lot better basis then most of the other people on Bonaire.(Many of the people doing quality-work on Bonaire just do not originate from the island....)

Good luck with your decisions

Harrie

Thank you very much Mr.Harrie for your very good information about the Bonaire education reality.I just quit my college because of Bonaire´cause I guess that being Bonaire part of the Netherlands, quality of life must be good I mean,is the average salary or the minimum wage enough for making a living on the island?,is not the I´m doing bad but I want to live in a more quiet and stable place.
And by the way, here in Venezuela there is a lot of variety of technical schools to choose from but what really makes me hesitate of getting enrolled is the political situation which is a complete mess.Thank you again!
