I had a firewall on my last laptop and it was amazing how many attacks I got when on the internet. I guess I should use it again.

Norton makes several products; this is specifically with the firewall/Internet security product, not with the virus software or any of their others. If you aren’t having any problems uploading pictures to BT then don’t worry.
