Has any of the wind returned as yet? The wind gauge on the Webcam page seems to go from Zero to Zero to 2mph to Zero again....is it still that "still" down there?? Reversal or just no breeze??

Any relief in sight? Carole

No wind. I can't predict the future, but no wind now.
On the bright side, that means the water is super calm. :-)

Thanks for the update, Tish. I wonder what the heck is going on? So unusual for this time of year.

Thanks, Susan...neat site! Carole

We have a trip scheduled in September. Our fall trips to Bonaire usually take place in October. Seems like the winds are usually blowing fairly well in Ocotober. How about September?

September is the month when the wind is most likely to die down. If you wind surf, that's not a good time to come. If you dive, it's a great time because the water is likely to stay very calm.

Outstanding! We dive. Is it alot hotter in September than October? Thanks. Marcus.

Sometimes the winds aren't blowing in October either.
The sun always seems hotter when the winds die down, but my thermometer doesn't register much if any temperature difference year round. Wind makes us feel cooler.
Clouds and rain lower the temperature some, so the rainy season feels less hot. That's supposed to be November-December, but last fall and winter Mother Nature did not stick to usual patterns.
Knock wood, you are not likely to get rain in September.
Have you ever read Bruce Bowker's weather forecast? It's very funny: same prediction every day year round. :-)

Windguru was our sponsor for KOTC, Susan. They were TOTALLY right on...BAD BAD for us...HOTTER than Haiti..I could NEVER live her if it were this hot all the time.

:-(

Ann,
I check Windguru every day. They are incredibly accurate. Nice link you have there. Very sad conditions for contestants and those of us who wanted to see everyone do their thing. Maybe next year. This weather feels much more like September/October with the extra humidity. Great time to be in the water up to your neck. Susan

I've been thinking ( this can be very dangerous!) about the lack of wind on Bonaire. We, here in the Northeast USA, have been "stuck" under a Low Pressure area for quite a while now...the Nor'Easter's you hear about....and out West it is sweltering hot and the Northwest is under water, too....I have a feeling the Low Pressure area that is dominating my area is preventing the "normal" pattern of jet stream air currents and changes in the High/Low Pressure areas which flow with it. I think whatever is happening on Bonaire is caused by the Low Pressure system up here and the High out West....nothing can move so the winds have temporarily ceased on Bonaire.

Any meteorologists out there to comment on my "theory"??? Just curious. Makes sense to me but I am, by far, no meteorologist/weather expert, LOL!!

I hope the normal winds return very soon....it is so nice to have that great breeze keeping things cool and airy. Carole

PS My brain is sore now from thinking that hard! LOL! cb

I know nothing about weather, but your theory sounds logical , Carole, since weather patterns are connected world-wide.
Knock wood, the winds are picking up here again. :-)

Hooray, Tish!! I have heard the conditions around the Northeast are supposed to clear out a lot and sun to return...that would move the Low Pressure area off our coast, on its merry way and then permit the winds to kick up to normal on Bonaire! Yippee!! Carole
