All the car rental booths are across the parking lot, not far from the front of the airport. Less then a 5 minute walk.

Alott of the car rental booths are at the south end of the airport building. Budget is located there. Ron

Sept. 04 we were there.. And our rental was waiting for us right in front. The last time I had to go to a office to pick up our rental was in 1997. So if it has changed then I am sorry for my post.. Ron

Just a note on Budget. We were on Bonaire for our 5th Trip in April. We used Budget on this trip. Budget's insurance coverage is the usual $11.00 per day. They have a $300 deductible that the customer pays in the event of damage to the vehicle before the insurance kicks in. Sure enough, I backed the vehicle into a low wall one night and put a dent in the bumper. When I returned the vehicle, I had to pay the $300 deductible even though we had paid the $11.00 per day for the insurance. I write this for informational purposes only. I am not complaining about Budget's insurance procedures because I was fully aware of them and the damage was my fault.

Marcus, get a American Express card (Blue Card) for free and tell A/M that you want the CDW coverage for $19.95 per rental term automaticly when renting a vehicle and the deductable is 0 and personal property is $2500 per driver. Budget does take A/Express some of the other companies don't. Ron

And another thing... That deductable is normally $572 and all of the companies have it then the insurance kicks in.. Plus A/Express will cover any damage to your rental for vandalism with no deductable.

Ron: Thanks for info. I was wondering if all the rental companies worked the same way. When you say free on the American Express Card, do you mean no annual fee? Thanks again. Marcus.

Yes no anual fee for the Blue Card. You have to request the CDW insurance program when you apply for the card. Ron

The CDW is a different program for cars you have to ask for CDW for Trucks and it works fine.. Ron

Belinda, one of the stipulations with A/E CDW is that you have to produce the keys for the insurance to be in affect. Did they steal the car as well? Ron

Belinda, If the taken property was inside your rental you will be covered. If your hubbys pants with the keys were someplace else your on your own... Ron

Re: AmericanExpress card. Ours came because we are members of Costco. You do have to call an 800 number to set up the CDW (for our card) and the primary named person has to call. Once you have signed up for it - it just sits there waiting for you to put a rental vehicle on it - then the $19.95 shows up on your statement also.

I e-mailed them a month and a half ago or so and asked them if they take Amex because I also had signed up for the $19.95 insurance, they responded back with a yes. Heres the e-mail

Do I understand this right. If I get an American Exp card with CDW for trucks It will only cost About $20 for the CDW I can decline Budgets CDW and there is no deductible. If I did have a problem would budget bill A/E directly and since we are renting a car would it be covered the same as a truck.

As far as I can remember, it's not CDW for trucks. It's extra rental insurance that also covers trucks, and the coverage provided allows one to decline CDW risk-free.

After reading these I called on my VISA card. I was told that it would cover CDW and to decline the other . I was also told it did not cover medical or liability and to check with budget for that. The VISA agent was very helpful. Does any one know how the medical & liability works. MY Visa is primary.
