Hi,
We are wondering if there is a book about Bonaire fish. I have seen the list that is posted but would like a book with photos, so we can identify and read about what we have seen.
Is there such a book? Can we buy it on Bonaire? Can we buy it on line/mail order, so we have it before we leave?
Thanks
Abbi

Reef fish by Paul Humann covers Florida, Caribbean and Bahamas with full descriptions and photos. It is pricey at around $40.00, but it is my bible and very complete at around 400 pages. Most dive shops will sell an A4 chart of common fish. Maybe other BTers will have other suggestions.

Abbi, ditto to Brian's post. They also have a great fish behaviour book too...

I have many fish id books and I must agree that Paul Human's is the best. I have the whole set. Fish id, corals, creatures and fish behavior. He just released an updated fish id book, so if you buy it, make sure it is the latest edition. I know you can buy it at reef.org and amazon.com on line. If you wait till you get to Bonaire you can get it reasonably priced at the Carib Inn.

My 4 year old German Shepherd/Huskie ate my Reef fish by Paul Human. The spine is gone. I think he knows we are going on vacation and is trying to stop us. Neurotic canines - but I love him!

Thanks for all the info. For anyone needing a new copy (due to lovable neurotic canines) Amazon has then for $30 but 2nd ed. from 1994, reef.org has them for $39 3rd ed.. I looked to see if Paul Human had one in the series titled "Dog Behaviour" but no luck.
