I have read in the past on the net about insurance that can be purchased in case of loss and or damage of scuba equipment including flooding of a camera. Does anyone know of any websites that offer such. I have been unable to locate anything myself.

One which has a very nice policy, and a good rep is DEPP - Divers Equipment Protection Plan - you can reach them at INNPROGRP@aol.com

Also, check with your local U.S. insurance company for a "marine inland" policy, which is what I used when I was still living stateside.

Most property insurance companies will write a rider for added personal property like scuba and camera gear, sometimes for short periods of time. Usually less expensive than dedicated insurance.

Agree with Glen. I pay a pittance for a rider on our u/w cameras and get zero deductable to boot. I asked about flooding and was told "it's all risk" so any damage or loss is completely covered.

My insurance company didn't have a specific coverage for dive gear, so the standard deductable applies. So, we pay some if we have stuff stolen, but after the deductable, it's all covered.

For our sea kayaks, we carry a separate policy that's an "inland marhine" policy with an endorsement for coastal waters (since these are ocean kayaks, after all). These are fiberglass and kevlar boats... definitely worth covering.

Thanks everyone, I have read about DEPP before but was unable to locate them. I will also check out with my insurance company about a rider. Don't have the expensive camera's but if I were to lose all my equipment, it would hurt.
