Jake, Linda, Yana and Bas will be in Southern California during the Christmas Holiday. We've nailed a date down, Sunday, December 19th, for a BBQ/get together. Now the question is where. We can have it in San Diego somewhere (Old Town perhaps), North San Diego County, my house (BBQ), or somewhere else. Please let me know your ideas, so I can start planning :-) hee hee:-)

I vote for the La Casa Del Zorro Resort out in the Anza Borrego desert! (keep driving about past/thru North Sandy Eggy County, past Julian and the apple pies and you will hit it eventually!) Just joking....wish we could be there. Alas, we can't. You will have fun no matter where you go! Carole

Hey Cynde...how about having the BBQ a little farther north so more "lefty" BT's can attend?

We're going to be staying around DelMar/Solana Beach, so we could hop a train north (providing train schedules are amenable) if you all decide to meet further north than like around Dana Point.

Jake

Cynde, keep us informed of the time/date. If the job I've been offered comes thru, Airey and I will be traveling more frequently.

I would suggest Heisler Park in Laguna Beach, but the weather is kind of iffy in December, although it usually doesn't really turn rainy until after Xmas. We could have a beautiful sunny day or a miserable drizzly day. William Mason Park in Irvine has large shelters that can be reserved, I don't know the costs involved, but it is an option. It is near the 405, so it is easy to find. Heisler is free but Mason charges a fee.

OK, now that I'm back from Holiday, we need to get this gathering together! Here are my two suggestions, if someone has another one, please pipe in!

1. Jake, Linda, Yana and Bas can take the train up to San Juan Capistrano, we can pick them up at the station, head over to the San Juan Mission and the kids can run around and get all their energy out, then go to a local restaurant for an early dinner, and they can hop on the train back south.

2. We can drive South to Solona beach and meet them at a local restaurant.

Any feedback?

Cynde

Hey Cyndi...hope you had a great holiday in Florida with Michael! We will be heading down to Florida tomorrow to visit some BT friends, relatives and the Mouse. We vote for San Juan Capistrano...let us know as soon as possible, since we will need to book a hotel the night prior.

Hi Rog, Karen! We should have this firmed in the next couple of days (hopefully) :-) Michael will just be getting home from Florida, and has CG duty that weekend, so I'm hoping if we can do a late afternoon dinner, he can at least join us for that portion!

OK, it's a done deal! Jake, Linda, Yana and Bas will take the train up to San Juan Capistrano on Sunday, December 19th. Not sure of the time yet, but we are thinking of dinner around 5:00 in SJC. Will post details once Jake and Linda get their train schedule:-) This is gonna be fun!

Ok, it's set. Jake, Linda and the kids will be coming up to San Juan Capistrano around 2 in the afternoon. We will be having dinner at the Cedar Creek Inn at 5:00PM. If you want to join us, either post here or send me a private email as I'm going to make reservations. All left coast BTalkers are welcome :-)
