Hi All,
Does anyone know if Pink Beach has any "beach" yet? When we were down 2 years ago it was more like pebble beach. Shame that wave action destroyed it along with Nukove etc.

Doesn't really matter cause we're gonna go look for ourselves the week after next anyway!

Hi, Keith. I was there in November, and it's a nice beach. I actually layed on the beach for a while getting some sun. You have to search out the sand, but it's there !

Keith, the beach comes and goes depending on the wave action. I have a place on the the water, and have a nice sandy beach 80 of the time.

Hi there... I'm a local from Bonaire. It's sad how Pink Beach looks right now, it's not even the half of what it was, all the soft sand got flushed away... it's really sad.
But once you are inside the water just swim about 15 meters and you'll find a lot of white sand. And if you are lucky between 4 and 5pm you might watch the dolphins pass by...
As I watch them, the only feeling that goes through my body is hope, hope that some day this beach will heal itself again.
Just take a look how it was back in 1998

I wish I could find pictures before 1996… when it was still the best beach in the Netherlands Antilles.

That, too, is my memory of Pink Beach: Lots of sand everywhere you looked. Pink sand! Alas, nature has its way sometimes.

Wish I had experienced Pink Beach before Lenny took the sand away. It will return someday....maybe. Depends on Mother Nature. I understand it was sand added by "man" years ago, so Mother Nature might have simply placed the sand back out where it was at one time long ago.....one can only hope the sand will move inward/landward, again, tho. Interesting, I'd never heard the man-made theory before, but I wouldn't be all too shocked if it were true. Can anyone else confirm/discount?

Well I grew up in Bonaire and I've never seen any truck or anything similar add sand to pink beach in fact people used to steal sand from the beach because it's excellent for construction.
This beach belongs to Salt Company (and I'm sure that they are not going to spend money just to make the beach look nice)
Maybe if it was a private beach... well maybe then... or even the government would invest some money by adding some extra sand to it.

So... nope... no sand has been added... at least not before mid 70's... who knows before...
I bet you that over 7 years it will look much better

(I hope sooooo)

Even so, it is still my favorite beach to just sit and watch the waves. I don't know why, maybe the large dune behind you, but it is soooo relaxing to me. I have a pic. of me laying there, taken from behind me, and you can see the water too... it's my favorite picture ever ...
