Hi,

I just read a magazine that touts Bon's
Rooi Lamoenchi Kunuku - any info as to how to book tours?

Ricon - 16th century town built because of the Pirates of the Caribbean - any tours of Ricon that you know of?

A Mangrove Info and Kayak Center - ? Where is it?

Where exactly is Pekelmeer Sanctuary? (From Kral)

Magazine also mentioned Lac Cai Sunday afternoon parties - still going on? Worth going to?

Also said great things about watching the sun set at Karel's (I liked that place!) - still there?

Going April 21 - May - so any info to help me check these things out would be great. I'm still a newbie, after all :-)

Thanks!
Michelle

Still doing tours but you need to make an appointment.

Rincon. Walking and bus tours from Soldachi Tours are available Monday morning 9-12 and market days, or on-request basis. Email at mailto:wilmari@bonairelive.com

Mangrove Info and Kayak is on the north road into Lac Cai. Sorobon is on the south road of Lac Cai.

Pekelmeer Sanctuary - I assume this is about the flamingo sanctuary. Pekelmeer is the salinas in the south end of the island. The flamingos have a breeding area far into the salinas. The breeding area is NOT an attraction. It is strictly off-limits. Any disturbance could cause the entire colony to abandon its nests for the season. You can see some flamingos in the salinas right near the road but you are not going to see flamingo nests.

Lac Cai Sunday still going on But I've never been there.

Karel's is going strong.

Sunday at Lac Cai....what a pure hoot if you want to hang with some of the locals. Good local music (i sure can't shake it that fast but the locals do), lotsa beers (not much bright....more a polar crowd), good ribs and fish. We've done 3 sundays on the last two trips and thoroughly enjoyed every visit.

enjoy
