Anybody familiar with grocery store hours on Bonaire? The only one with a web-site (Warehouse) says they close at 1:00p Saturday and never open on Sunday. For somebody arriving on a Saturday evening (Sunday if we get stuck in Puerto Rico), is there anywhere to get food and drink besides a restaurant?
-spoiled by 24 hr city life...

On Saturday night you will need to go to a restaurant. Pasa Bon Pizza stays open until 11pm and is our favorite when we arrive in the evening. I believe that KFC may also be open late. Someone else may know of others. On Sunday the grocery store Cultimara is open in the morning, I think it is 8am til noon but if that is incorrect I am sure another BTer will chime in. During the week it is open til 7pm.

Cultimara is open on sunday from 9.00 - 1400 I think.

In any case you will be able to get groceries there on sunday morning.

More for Less is open on Sunday also 9-1300.
Montecatini, Joke's or Sand Dollar Grocery might have some Sunday hours. You should ask the folks where you are staying which ones near you are open.

FYI - no food other than maybe pretzels or peanuts served on the SJU-BON flight.

Hi Joe,

We just returned from Bonaire one week ago today. Our last day there we discovered Lucy's Convenience Store which is open from 7:00 a.m. till 10:30 every night (even Sunday). They have snacks, beverages, power steering fluid (the reason for our visit). They might be the answer for you.

Here is one thread where it is mentioned:

Maybe someone else can help you with directions to get there - my husband did the driving and I paid little or no attention to how we got from place to place.

Belinda ... do you mean Lisa Gas which is on the main road from the airport into town and has a new convenience store?

Susan,

That would be the one. We found it very comforting to know that some place was open that late!

Belinda
