This an unabashed commercial plug for which I expect absolutely no reward. I just finished reading The Carnival Never Ends by Sparky Thorne and it, to me, really captured a lot of the spirit of Bonaire, it's guests, and it's residents. It's pretty jaded (well so am I) but i thoroughly enjoyed the read and trying to match faces and places in the mystical St Dominic to the realities of Bonaire. Sparky used to play in the same band with Moogie and spent quite a few years on Bonaire before moving back to the states. You can get the book and kinda homemade cd's of his music directly from him. He's put together a "vacation in a box" with two of his cd's and the book along with an "almost" authentic Experienced Caribbean Traveler certificate.
