My husband and I will be in Bonaire from Feb. 28 through April 14, and am wondering if the mosquitos and no-seeums are likely to be a problem. I've been reading some recent posts that make me a little concerned since the little critters really love me (and won't touch my husband). We were in Bonaire from mid-August to late Sept. last year, and only got a few no-seeum bites toward the end of our stay. 30% DEET is the only thing that works for me, but the DEET dissolves the finish on shoes, cameras, etc.

Thanks,
Marge

We were there in mid january and found the mozzies and no-see-ums to be quite friendly, expecially just after sunup and just before sundown. It may have dried out a bit since then, but it was raining almost every day (not a bad thing for a desert dweller like me and not even enough to trouble the diving) when we were there

It has been raining in early Feb. and they're out in the eve.

We returned yesterday (Saturday) and I have some massive bites on my legs. They were out everywhere and at everytime of day. The worst place was the dive locker area of the Plaza - there must have been a nest in there.

Oh well, just the price to pay for nice weather and great diving...back to unpacking & laundry....

Thanks, BT'ers! We'll take plenty of DEET with us and try to stay underwater most of the time!
