Hi All,

Saw this article in our paper Saturday. Probably not news to all you people with gills!! Very scary prospects. Liquid Cyanide!!

http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/GIS.Servlets.HTMLTemplate?tf=tgam/search/tgam/SearchFullStory.html&cf=tgam/search/tgam/SearchFullStory.cfg&configFileLoc=tgam/config&encoded_keywords=coral+reefs&option=&start_row=1&current_row=1&start_row_offset1=&num_rows=1&search_results_start=1

If that ridiculous link doesn't work for you, it is under http://www.globeandmail.com/ search coral reef and the first article selected should be it.

Bill and Cheryl...what a horrible story...really makes you think...we have parrots and were just saying yesterday that they shouldnt sell them any longer..people don't realize the work and effort that has to go into keeping them...Knowing what we know now..and how many are smuggled in and killed in the process..we would never have purchased our...but they have become our family...and are treated probably better than many children are....my daughters say they have more toys than they did as children! It is a shame...Thanks for the eye opener...

Bill, thank you for the article. It is frightening, indeed. What is more scary, is that way too many of us (meaning the human race) have "turned our heads" for way too long. It is good to see that there is some glint of hope out there that the wild/fish/marinelife and the eco system is still salvagable. I remember trying to "fight" these same battles over and over in the 60's and the attempts to educate the world and change what was happening....sad to see not much changed at all and that very possibly some of the folks who were trying to "save the world" are now part of the problem. We can hope and educate again and again and again...never to cease the process. Thanks again. Carole
