Hi all,

Finally made it back home to Bonaire tonight and discovered that I don't have a cable necessary for the type of switcher I need to use to integrate my new XBox into my A/V system.

You may ask why am I bothering with a video game system on Bonaire, when such great diving is available. Well, it's because I can't dive for the next 4-5 months while my shoulder mends (and it's good wrist and finger therapy - honest!).

Anyhow, what I need is a couple of 3' (1 meter) S-Video cables, along with a couple 3' Stereo RCA patch cables. Radio Shack may have these as a combo (S-Video Stereo patch cord assembly or something like that).

So, if you're coming to Bonaire soon and have the time to hunt these down and then bring them, I'd be most indebted!

Thanks,

Jake

Meryl,

I had shoulder surgery in NH - started as a mini-rotater cuff repair and ended up as a repair of a tear in my labrum instead.

Thanks for the mail offer! I'll let you know!

Jake

Hi Jake,

if you haven't received cables by March, just let us know. (-: Although, by that time you probably made some yourselves.

Peter

Jake,
welcome to the shoulder club. I'll have to show you the matching scars I have added for the repair work that I had done in 2000 and the latest in August, 2001.

If you don't have someone bringing them before the 22nd of December let me know by the 17th and we will bring them down.

Mark

You're on, Mark :-)

Sarah - see you soon!

BTW, the cables do need to be 3 foot (although I could even do with one foot cables for that matter, but not longer (longer is easier to find, of course).

Thanks,

Jake

I had a funny thought about these cables; I could run up to a stranger getting on a plane to Bonaire and ask them to take the cables. Oh yeah that would work, remember that guy that ran up the wrong escalator at Hartsfield. What exactly happens when you sue a middle income person for 10 gazzilion dollars and you win? If your Buddist, does he own you his next lifetime's salary? and his next? ...

Jake, Welcome back. I hope your house is still in 1 piece (thinking of tho picture "fight" :)). If no-one can bring or mail them, I could ask Bert (from Caribbean Court) if there is a container due to be send to him soon and have a cable send with it. It would probarly take a while for it to get there, but who knows....

Hi Jake, Welcome back..
We will be arriving tomorrow at Capt.Don's for the week so I thought I might give it a try at Radio Shack.. Alas, they only have the 6 footers. Hope someone else is more successful than I.

Jake, did you go to the extreme of feigning a shoulder injury with resultant surgery in order to rationalize/justify the purchase of the X Box??!! You wouldn't go THAT far, would you? LOL. Carole

PS Bas...I don't think you be able to play with the video games until at least 4-5 months from now!

Freddie, thanks for looking. Best Buy and Circuit City may have them as well (but don't get Monster Cable brand - too expensive and not worth it IMHO).

Carole, I actually got a bunch of games Bas and Yana attempted to play as well. They like the Off-Road racing games best. And no, I didn't have surgery just to justify the XBox :-)

Jake
I will be down in mid January and if no one else will get there sooner I can bring them. To be sure you get the right ones, look at this website.. they seem to have what you are looking for and let us know which ones, and how many you want.

Alan,

I think the model 5139-03 would do me just fine... I'll let you know if we don't get them before you come down (I have a small business trip I just found out about later this month to Orlando, so I may be able to get them myself as well).

Thanks!

Jake

Hi Jake,
At Best Buy today (whilst picking up CD-Rom drives) I picked up some 3' cables that I believe will suit you. (Both S-Video & Audio) We'll bring them by after 12/8 (arrival date).
See you then,
Judy
