You too, Jake? I grew up with Dr. Who (even remember when it was really a kid's show), and always loved it. Have you ever seen "Red Dwarf" -- that's a hoot, although a lot of my US friends don't understand the British humor. Don't get to see it anymore...

Hope your shoulder is doing well.

Phew, finally something that WILL fit into into my bag!
Jake, I'll pop the jelly babies into the trolley this weekend.. Meryl, thank you.. don't know when we'll be at the cams, but we'll certainly get to them at some point! Bas, got your e-mail.. I should have guessed you didn't really want me to DRAG Mini parts to you.. but believe me, I would, if I could.. OK, back to it, will check in again soon.. S:)

ps. Jake, did you know that Dr.Who Scarves are IN this season!! :)

Josie and Carole,

Another Red Dwarf fan here. There supposedly coming out with a full length Red Dwarf movie, which I guess is the reason why they haven't come out with a Season 9...

I can't believe I just typed "there" for "they're". Argh. I guess I'm tired...

Anyway, I believe the movie is supposed to come out next year - after all this time, a Cat, Rimmer, Lister, Kryten and Holly fix is overdue.

Thanks for the tip, Susan...I will alert the "other half" to keep an eye out for any new flicks. Carole

Walkers short breads in the oblong tin....we used to be able to get them here. I guess take out from Mr. Chows in Knightsbridge is out of the question?

Carole,
Tell him to check out www.reddwarf.com - lots of gossipy stuff about the project.

It even has a tie-in to Dr Who - their special effects guy apparently came from Dr Who, and is going back to work on a BBC-online project, TARDIS Cam. So it all comes back to Gallafrey (did I spell that right?)

Michael, I haven't seen them at the Supermarket, but I'll certainly take a look for you.. so fingers crossed.. As for the Chinese, you'll have to put yourself on a KLM jet for that one!!!

note: I've arranged delivery of the food bits for this weekend.. so only 3 more days left for requests folks.. bye for now..S:)

I prefer to take Air Jamaica from Montego Bay to London....It would be great to get them to make it a connecting flight from Bonaire!

Sarah,

While we are on the "food" subject....I have not been to London for a while, but I do remember a candy bar called the "Double Decker" it was wonderful. I will not be in Bonaire for your visit but I was just wondering if you have ever heard of it....

Have a Great Trip, we have to wait 84 days (but who's counting)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Sarah on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 - 3:11 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Hi Beth, yes, I have heard of it.. I believe it was similar to the now Snickers Bar.. You have a great trip too.. and if you ever get back to London, let me know? Though we're not living in London now, we're not too far away:)

Michael, sorry, no luck on your Walkers short breads.. if you have a real craving and can't get short breads on BON, I'll pick you up the Supermarket brand.. though they might not be as good.. S:)

mimi, if you are near a Costco store, they have Walker shortbread cookies. Infact you can acquire a 3 pound tin for about $14.99. I am adicted to the stuff, so I don't go into Costco during the Christmas season.

lonnie - thanks for the shortbread alert. Now i will toss the ball into Michael's court. when my injured leg is healed and i actually get to bonaire in one piece, do you want me to bring bagels or shortbread? let's call this one "Big Apple vs. Big Ben".
mimi

Mimi, I think that perhaps the "Big Apple" would win this one:) There are some stores here selling US products.. but as we live in a small Village, those shops just aren't here! Seems you will be the one to ease Michaels' craving!..S:)

I have not seen to many bagel shops in London, but I have not been there for years...I will import Walkers from Costco along with my ink cartridges for my printer! Masha Danki for the tip!

Michael,

Have you tried refilling your ink cartridges instead of replacing? I have done it for some time: it is easy, quick and inexpensive. Check out http://www.computer-society.org/ The ink link is down on this page.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Josie on Friday, November 30, 2001 - 10:36 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

Alan refills our ink cartridges and we don't seem to have any problems. Certainly is less expensive. Doesn't seem to be TOO hard (this is from someone who hasn't tried it herself, of course!)

Robert, and anyone else coming down soon, a small shopping list has materialized for us, if you're able and willing:

- Four Paws brand "Keep Off!" outdoor granular dog and cat repellent (good for Grendel training)
- black sweet Thai rice (not wild rice)
- white filter pad for large aquarium tank (probably around 16x16")
- peanut oil

For anyone from Holland coming to Bonaire reading this:

- Young Children's Books in Dutch (like something in the maan - roos - vis series)
- Dutch educational CD-ROM games (like Reader Rabbit in Dutch) for kids ages 4-8
- Dutch children's videos/movies (have to be NTSC VHS or NTSC DVD Region 1 or No Regional Coding)

Thanks!

Jake

Jake, I think I have you covered on the US based shopping list. We'll try to swing by on Sunday (1/20) with the loot, if that works for you. We'll give you a call when we get in...
Let us know if anything else pops up---we still have a few days to pull stuff together, and we are happy to be able to help.

Ellen:
I will be glad to give it a try...let me check around a few places on Thursday, and I will post the results of the search...if we do find it, I will be glad to bring it as we usually have room in the baggage, since there are three of us and only one diver.
