Last number my husband called me from the kitchen to tell me Bonaire was about to be on TV ... a show called Divers Down and guess who we saw ... Jake, on the boat as they got ready to dive the Helma Hooker, and shots of many places above water too, then Jake coming up and back onto the boat :-) It was a nice 'fix' to get me through the winter waiting for our trip to Bonaire in May.

We had watched the two episodes that were on last May and had heard from Mark Stanton of Diver's Down that he was planning a third. Watched last nights and many of the shots were the same as in the other two -- so much so that we weren't sure if it was new or a repeat! Did not matter though since it is always nice to visit Bonaire even on TV. And yes, jake looked like a real star!!

Yes, Mark Stanton & the rest of the crew of Divers Down TV were on Bonaire the tail end of 2002 to film the sequences that Mark used for those episodes. Mark had invited us to come along, but unfortunately we weren't able to make it. Jake was definitely very photogenic, though! :-)

From what I understand, Mark and family apparently had a great time on the island, and want to go back again. Another case of PBD strikes!

Faith ... don't you think that he needs a whole lot of we New Englanders to go along to help him film????

Susan -- :-)

Seriously, though, if you ever get a chance to tag along when Mark and Jill are filming for an episode, do it! We got to go out with them for their Salem, MA episode, and it was a blast. Even though the first dive was a bust (horrid current that Dan and I never managed to get anywhere in -- boat had to come get us! -- and Mark's camera housing fogged about 3 minutes into the dive), the company on the boat was great, and the second dive was a lot of fun. Besides which, it's interesting to see what they do to get some of the shots they get. And it was a great excuse to blow off a day of work... :-)

And Mark was kind enough to let Dan put in a plug for DiveNewEngland.com...

Faith
