We expect to return to Bonaire this summer with our four children for two weeks. We are interested in hiring a babysitter a few hours each day to fit in some diving. Where might I find a competent 20 something babysitter for our mostly well behaved children (ages 9, 6, 4 and 4)?

Elizabeth, I live in Bucks County, not too far from you. You could bring me along, and I'll babysit for a couple of hours a day. I'll bet Jake probably will come up with some kind of solution for you.

Let's see---a $600 RT ticket from Philly to Bonaire via Air Jamaica for about 40 hours of babysitting---well, you are a little expensive but we might be able to work something out...

Well Elizabeth, you get what you pay for. I also have four kids, so I'm quite experienced and have great references. I guess you can tell it's a snow day, so I really am longing for Bonaire.

We tend to keep a small crop of mid-teen-something babysitters on call - don't know any 20 somethings... Although, you may want to seriously consider bringing a trusted babysitter from home with you - trade the trip for the babysitting. We did that the summer we moved to Bonaire, and it worked out great.

Thanks Jake. We asked our babysitter but she has to work at a full-time job this summer. We may have extended family joining us on vacation; in that case, we will not have a need for babysitters. If we end up coming alone with the children, I will be in touch.
