Our new neighbors just recently got married and took a 2 week honeymoon to Cozumel. After their return, I took over their mail and was talking to them about the trip. I made the comment that we didn't want to leave Bonaire from our honeymoon, but they said they were ready to get home. Their trip consisted of a tight scheduled to do this and that, and be here at this time and there at that time. He said that everytime he turned around there was Mexican resort worker with his hand out, wanting a tip. He said it was an OK trip but not very relaxing with a hectic schedule. My point..... he should of went to BONAIRE..........

Good point Todd! Bonaire = no boat schedules, no follow - the - leader dive master swims at 80' for 20 minutes and noone hassling you to buy a time share when you're walking down the street. Bonaire Rules!

I love Bonaire but your friends trip to Cozumel was not Cozumel's fault. I visited Cozumel in 2000 and had a great time and the diving (all drift dives) were great. You can do as much or as little as you want, you set your schedule not the island. If they had a tight schedule it was because they planned one. The only place I have been hasseled as been on the beaches of Aruba. But, I concur the place I keep returning to is Bonaire.

Bad vacation planning is not site dependent. The same folks might have OD'd on BON too had they had a rigorous schedule. Rigorous schedules are like for European vacations, and should be alternated with days of goofing off.

still..there is no place like Bonaire for R & R..the weather, topography(can't get lost), selection of resturants, clean waters , all are no hassle and lead you to the " don't worry " attitude you need on vacation...not to mention the diving !

To me, if a vacation becomes "work", then it is no longer a vacation.....Carole
