Is it chlorinated, or otherwise treated?

It is distilled and as sweet as can be. No need to buy bottled water, just bring some bottles down on the plane to keep yourselves hydrated and refill them from the tap as they get empty once you are on island.

Ron, Bonaire has the sweetest, best water in the entire world! And it is "safe", too. It is just one more thing about Bonaire you will fall in love with and never forget! It is desalinated water, I believe....processed on the island.

You will not find "cold" water ever running thru the taps as the pipes run underground, but the intense sun/heat and rocky terrain prevents them being placed very deep into the ground.

Just save some bottles from soda or something else and fill them up and keep them in a fridge or cooler so you have nice cold drinking water.

Some folks fill up the plastic bottles and freeze them up and then place them into coolers for when they go out on shore dives or drives around the Park, etc., so they are melted down and nice and cool when you return to the vehicle.

Have no concerns about the water on Bonaire....it is actually good for you....much unlike our waters here in NJ! LOL. Carole

PS My husband works at a Waste Water Treatment facility in NJ.....I "know".....I drink bottled water in NJ! LOL.
