This is the greatest travel website! We have been able to plan our entire honeymoon using this site!

We are in need of a car. Doesn't matter what kind. Hoping for a reliable one, good price, good service (won't leave you stranded), has A/C, and will deliver to the hotel (we are staying at Harbour Village which may not be close to anything).

Anyone have any great recommendations?

I second Ida's motion. We have used AB the last 3 years and have always had excellent vehicles with no problems. P.S. The addition of Marc to their team has definately made a positive difference. Have a good dive!

We, too, use AB Car Rental each trip. No problems at all and very nice folk. Just be certain to specify air conditioning! We rent a RAV 4 SUV (2 door) and it is standard shift. No automatics with the RAV 4. It's OK tho! Have a great honeymoon and get ready for a trip report when you return, OK? CArole

AB carrental has the best deal.

Try not to use the AC, enjoy the heat

You can pick up and return the car on the airport.

Have a nice Holiday

J. Oldham -

Congratulations on the new life chapter. What a way to start: Bonaire!

Let me suggest that if you wish to take your rental car into the park, which strongly we encourage you to do because it is such a unique part of the small island, be sure your rental vehicle is "park worthy." The area is miles of very rough dirt roads and the normal urban sedan is no match.

We, too, have used AB with good luck for three visits. And I think they will pick you up and return you to Harbour Village.

The A/C feature is a personal choice, but we have never used one even though we are dedicated A/C users at home. We echo Marcel's perspective: the equatorial environment is part of the adventure. Take and use lots of sun protection (the equatorial sun is intense to a degree that we North Americans don't experience) and you'll be fine.

What a wonderful memory y'all have in store.

AB works for us! Why not let others know, eh? LOL. Everyone at AB is friendly and takes care of us every year. You are welcome, Marc! CArole

If you are diving, you may want to consider a small PU truck instead of a car. They are soooo much easier to get tanks and wet stuff into and out of. I also agree, forget the A/C. With the windows down and the trade winds blowing, it's great, besides most all of your trips are so short that AC is not on long enough to do much good.

Speaking of AC, are you aware that many (not sure about HV)of the resorts only have AC in the bedrooms? It's not a problem for most but many newcomers expect a totally ACed condo. I don't figure you want any big unwelcome surprises on your honeymoon. If it's a must for you, check with HV to be sure.

The last two years I got a small mini-van from Everts --- VERY convenient and comfortable. When I want to go to the park, I exchange it for a four wheel drive vehicle just for the day. Everts are small, highly service-oriented, reasonably priced and a pleasure to do business with. The owner (Ilka) is always available to help.

I requested a quote from AB last Friday (November 21), got the email that said they received my request and to give them 48 hours - it is now November 26 and still no quote. Guess I'll check another company.

Sorry about that Belinda, it's a rather hectic week here at the moment. Not only are all our cars on the road thanks to Thanksgiving holidays, but we're also gearing up for the new season which starts December 1st. Plus we're busy hiring new staff to keep up with the growth (and take some of the work off my shoulders). I hope everyone will be satisfied with our new offerings.
Anyway, I replied to you this afternoon... hope I wasn't too late.

Marc,

Thanks SO much for your responses to me (both here and in email). I really appreciate it as we REALLY wanted to rent a car from AB because we have heard so many great things about them!

Thanks again,

Belinda
