Does Bonaire use Guilders or the Euro? I thought it was the Guilder, but a currency conversion web site said that, as of 28 February 2002, the Guilder was of no value and the Euro had replaced it.

We have always used the Netherlands Antilles Guilder - not the Dutch Guilder. And yes, the Dutch Guilder has been replaced by the Euro.

The only time you will get 1.78 is for travellers checks and that will be at the banks. Stores use 1.75 for both cash and checks. Otherwise, banks give 1.77.
