I read in the Bonaire reporter there is now a bowling alley in Bonaire, it did not mention where it is though. Anybody been?

Hi Seb,
It is on the second floor of the building next to the Lost Penguin across the street from the MCB bank downtown. This building was under construction the last time you were here probably.

Hmmmm, a bowling alley on the second floor? Am I the only person that thinks maybe they didn't think this through? Wouldn't want to be downstairs! LOL

Linda,

I was getting nervous as I began to read your post. I was afraid that you were going to say the bowling alley was on the second floor of my hotel. That would be my luck. I would get the room right under the alleys.

Actually, one of the older bowling alleys still in Manhattan is on several floors of a building. (So's the one at the Port Authority, come to think of it) Maybe you need to think it through BEFORE you build it.

We went bowling last week - 6 lanes. Works pretty well (but balls on lane 6 kept getting stuck). Weird thing is how it's priced - NAF 30 per hour per lane, max 6 bowlers per lane. It's not done per game like elsewhere I've bowled. Selection of balls is limited, but we all found something that fit. Price includes shoes (which are all in European sizes - size 47 is U.S. size 13, FYI).

No food being served that I could tell (how can one bowl without chili cheese fries!), but there was a full bar.

I suggested they start a kids bowling league, and they seemed startled (pleasantly) by the suggestion, as if that was a completely novel idea.

Kids had a great time though, and we will certainly be going back.

Oh, and it's on the second floor above the moved Kodalux store (directly next door, east of The Lost Penguin).

Jake

Jake,,,Steve is angry cause I had told him years ago that it would be a great idea to have something like a bowling alley/roller rink on Bonaire...for the kids on the island, adult leagues, and for the tourists that still have energy after a full days diving....When he heard they had opened he said "If they do well I'm gonna be really mad at you!" :-) I personally hope they do well! Gotta give those kids something to do!
