I am curious as to what potted plants will grow in BON. My friend has successfully grown oregano and basil. Otherwise the critters munched away.

Hi Ann.

We grow basil, oregano, lemon grass, chives, and have had some luck with parsley, sage, and dill. Pretty much all herbs will grow in pots here with lots of attention. Iguanas will eat most herbs, however, so you have to be sure to keep them in a good spot. Maybe a porch or, as we do, a shade house. LVV is the part of the agricultural department of the island and has lots of cuttings and advise on herbs (and of course other suitable potted plants). They are located on the road to Lagoen...right hand side...past the animal shelter and Lagoen Hill subdivision. Hope it helps :-)

How are you. I have seen folks growing garden tomatoes in a pot inside their screened in porch. This keeps the bugs out and they get enough sunshine (if they are placed int the right area)
