Firstly, to Lorraine Meadows, I hope very much that your relatives that work in the fire service and police in NY have been in contact with you and are safe.

We have had news from contacts in New York, that most of Hugh's colleagues at the Trade Centre managed to get out alive. We have had reports of 3 in hospital and one not accounted for. We still haven't had contact with friends, but we're hoping to hear from them soon. I, along with so many others, am still deeply shocked by this. We have had news that British lives may also have been lost in NY. I have seen more recent footage of the events at WTC. I saw people jumping from the Towers and falling like rag dolls.. I do not think this footage should have been shown. Hugh has spoken to a Client here in London, apparently Hugh's client spoke with a colleague in the WTC after the second plane had hit. He said "we are dying here!".. Their offices were located at the top. My heart goes out to all those people that have lost loved ones and friends in this terrible tragedy. It was only a short time ago when we were inside the WTC at the Windows of the World drinking and enjoying the company of friends that worked in the Trade Centre, I still cannot believe that's it's all gone.. London is on high alert, all flights have been diverted so as not to fly over populated areas.. We live close to Heathrow, it's so weird, there are no planes in sight during this normally busy time of day. It has been a horrific 24 hours. I watched the news for hours last night and again this AM. To hear the accounts of witnesses and to see the footage. The news of cell phone calls from passengers in the air to say goodbye and people in the WTC holding hands jumping to their death. I am deeply saddened by these series of attacks but trust the global community will band together and resolve and face the crisis at hand.

My concern is the children. How sad for them to witness this. I am trying to keep the radio and tv away from Maggie and just share age appropriate info. War is a fact of our existence. It has just never touched US soil since Pearl Harbour and even then, it was isolated to one area.

I think our mutual sharing and dialogue has helped each other. My wishes are for peace and calm as we heal and rebuild.

Masha Danki to the people of Bonaire having the memorial service for the victums of this terrible thing that has happen here in New York. I will tell my friends of your kindness and concern for them.
Yesterday they found fireman alive so there is still hope of finding more, It is like a war zone, Jim was in at ground zero to help and said it was horrifing and yet the spirt of the volunteers and the people of all over is uplifting. We, I feel, as a united nation will perserveer and show to the rest of the free world that we will not be beaten down. May god bless us all in the next coming days.
