I just got a request from a police offer I know well here on Bonaire - Ronald Schleper (he's Dutch, wife is Antillean and his daughter is in singing classes with our daughter), who is planning on participating in the Chicago Marathon, and is looking for some reasonable, inexpensive lodging in the Chicago area from October 5 to 9. Guest rooms gladly accepted :-)

I e-mailed Ronald, but have not gotten a reply. Not to offend, but are you sure that is his correct e-mail?

I live near Chicago and would be happy to help him out. I'm also a runner and have participated in the Chicago Marathon myself (although it was about 20 pounds ago....).

I just dropped Ronald's friend (whose e-mail account he used to send me the message) a note to tell Ronald to check his mail, and also left Ronald a phone message via his wife (who, as I just discovered, is also helping my daughter and other kids at my daughter's afternoon daycare with her homework and Dutch!.
