First post to B/T. My girlfriend and I are returning again to Bonaire on April 9th for a week, and wanted to see if there is anything we can bring for the animals at the shelter.
Thanks, Dave

Here's some websites for you, courtesy of infobonaire.com. There is also a thread on BT Here showing the thread for the Animal Shelter and other organizations you might be interested in. Good Luck, and welcome aboard!

David, welcome to BT. Please email the shelter directly, as since they have opened up a pet supply store their needs are many. Do not worry if they don't respond back immediately, they are staffed mostly by volunteers, will get back to you and will be glad to hear of your offer.

Patrick

Welcome to BT, David. Thank you for your interest in the animal shelter. We have a new website www.animalshelterbonaire.com It is just up and fairly new but will be expanding in the days and weeks to come. There is a needs list posted there. In addition we do have a specific list of items we are in need of for the shelter gift shop. Things we seem to sell out of very quickly. They are: dog Kong toys, dog Nylabones, solid color leashes, dog harnesses for small-med. dogs (20-30" girth), cat collars (with the small elastic inset piece so they won't choke if the collar gets caught on something, cat play tubes, kitty teasers.
Marge and Kobi, thank you so much for the last "delivery" we really appreciate all your help. Kobi, animals are looking foward to your upcoming visit. Pat, thanks for letting others know we are not ignoring them...all our volunteers get just a bit overwhelmed at times.
Thanks to all of you BT'ers who I haven't personally met that have been helping us so much with our gift shop and for your support of our residents.

Jane, new web site looks great. Very much like the happy endings section. I will be back the end of May with Susan to follow shortly thereafter. We already have a pile of stuff for the store and I will contact you directly as we get closer. I may also have some time to give depending on what I get done at the condo before Susan arrives.

You and all the staff do a wonderful service for Bonaire and we look forward to seeing you and our furry friends again soon.

Thanks for the information everyone. I will check the website, and be sure to pack an extra bag for the shelter. Looking forward to our visit and seeing all the happy critters.
