Other than the equipment brands they use, are there any differences between the two rental companies? I found Jibe City on a Bonaire map, but couldn't find the Place - Where exactly is the Place - are they right next to each other? Does one company have better and stronger winds than another? Any differences in atmosphere/amenities?

Any tidbit of info on this is appreciated!
Thanks - Betty

Wind are the same...next door side by side. The same launch but different gear choices. The Place has Mistral, Naish, Hot Sails and RRD. Jibe City has Gaastra, Fanatic, and Bic.

Both have great instructors..you just need to decide based on gear.

My average year round sail size is 5.0 and 5.5..cannot get better than that..

Ann, I am thinking about trying my hand at windsurfing when I'm there in July. Where can I find general information about it, as well as prices? I assume I can get a lesson and then play with it all afternoon? I'm not sure how it works and would appreciate any guidance you can provide.

We have always sailed out of Jibe City and like it there. I like the atmosphere there better and it has a great little lunch restaurant. If you are really picky about gear, then use the Place. Like Ann says they are directly beside each other. You would have a good time at either place. You can rent by the hour, half day or whole day. Rental is extra beyond the lesson.
Both places have web sites. Look on the infobonaie.com web site. Have fun.
