First time down to Bonaire... Can't wait!

I'm a diver and been windsurfing for 15 years. The time has finally come to try the switch. I'll still get my fill at Lac Bay though ;) Any folks out there who have made the transition from windsurfing to Kiting? Not sure if the experience will help me at all? I'm taking 3x3 hr classes with Windsurf Bonaire and have heard great things about them.

I don't have a trainer (flew one years ago) and have been watching YouTube videos to try and get a mental picture as to the theory behind it all.

I was thinking about trying to get a trainer (I leave in 3 1/2 weeks). Do you think it's worth getting one? If so, any recommendations (used one preferred...size/brand/model...maybe eBay?) Any good instructional DVD that's been helpful?
