Kelly I believe you used the wrong formatting..
try \image{kitesurfing near airport}
mind the brackets they are the squiggly ones and the slash is a forward slash.. the photo can't be any larger than 50kb..

I would think that there would be a huge flap if anyone started kiting anywhere near the airport. There would be a real danger of aircraft entanglement. Not good for the airplane or the kiter.
