Wow! The time (July 7) has almost arrived where we will be heading off to Bonaire for the first time, and to windsurf until our arms fall off. We're SO excited and looking forward to the sun, clear water, and wind.
I'm here in Houston right now and it's been raining off/on (mainly on) for the past several days and it's getting old.
I'm packed, but husband isn't. Go figure. Can't wait to see what it's like in comparison to Aruba.

WooHoo!

Hi Julie. Have a great time 'til your arms fall off! We're leaving the 8th, and will dive until our fins fall off! :-)

Bonaire is nothing like Aruba. We have on shore winds, shallow all over, not as gusty as we have no wind shadow..no traffic lights and traffic jams really...laid back fun. May til today has been cranking winds. I was blown off the water yesterday using my 4.2 and 85 liter board..an encore today..

I can attest to the wind and the traffic that Ann is speaking about. Our last vacation was 3 days in Aruba, 7 days in Bonaire and then 3 days in Aruba. The first three days were nice as we were beginning to relax from the real world. We stayed right across the street from Eagle Beach - OUCH!!! I think I lost a layer of skin from the sand blasting. We either had to stay in the water or somewhere away from the sand - the wind would gust really badly.

I also didn't care much for all of the traffic, hotels, shopping (yes, I said that), and just ALL of the commercialism. That's just not my style - I'll take laid back Bonaire any day - or everyday if I could.

Have a FANTASTIC time.
