Should we be thanking La Nina for the 7 straight weeks of wind? There was a slight respite last week with lighter winds but wow, everyone is SO happy. If you need a wind fix, Bonaire is the place. Today in between my two sessions I captured some NICE shots of the Bonaire Team..wish I knew how to post...haa..

Hi Ann,

if you have windows XP on your PC then you can try the tips I gave Becky for her trip report, they worked for her :-)

I'm a windsurfer/Kiter myself, so would be very interested in seeing your pics.

Ahhh, I presumed you were wanting to get the picture file size small enough to post (it has to be less than 50Kb).

To post a picture in here in your post, click on the Formatting button at the bottom of this page and scroll down to section for Images, Attachments & Clipart and follow the instructions for Images

*Waits in anticipation* :-)

I'll testify that Roy's directions are superb, and I'd love to see your pics Anne... are you shooting film or digital, is that where you are wondering how to get the picture here?

Hi, Ann....you need to remember where you found the photo you chose (My pictures?) and then go to "upload" and find it where it was and attach it. The size must be under 50K, tho.

I'm hoping someone else can jump in here with more explicit details/directions for you, tho! LOL. I'm just so used to automatically doing it that it is hard to "explain".

Good luck!! Ayo. Carole

PS Or you could email it to one of us (or me) and we can resize the pic and upload it for you if you'd like. cb

Hi Ann & Carole, LOL I had to do a post in the cam thread to remind myself how it is done, as with you I'm so used to doing it automatically, I couldn't remember exactly what to do.

So Ann, once you have posted the message you say you have seen above (with the"YourImage Here")a new window opens where you must then hit the browse button and find the Folder/File where your Pic is saved. Then hit the upload button and if the Pic is under 50Kb then it should appear in your post.

The anticipation heightens :-) :-)

There are no divers in the windsurf area and no, it's not a stupid question..the snorkelers are at the reef so it works for all..

I'm not sure what you mean by "nuking winds". (I don't even see any white caps in the photos!?) We just returned from a week there and the smallest sail we used was a 7.0. I watched the wind reports though, and knew what to expect. It's a great place for beginners (and occasionaly higher), but Bonaire is NOT the gorge!

PS- We saw the same guys (in your pics) on the water doing those moves in what was 15 knots or less of wind.

Hi Jeff,

Note my original post was early Feb. Things change day to day. Darn mother nature. I once got skunked at the Gorge..ask Tonky and Ro..they too were there..it was unreal.

Haaa

Yes, mother nature rules and can be cruel to windsurfers... I've been going to the gorge since 1990 though, and rarely sail on anything less than a 5.5. I agree you can get skunked there, but as a general rule, it "nukes" in the gorge and more like "roman candles" in Bonaire. I just think it's a bit misleading to say this is the place for your wind fix, that's all.

I will say, however, that Bonaire is blessed with one of the most perfect beginner/intermediate learning areas in the world. You couldn't design a better situation: warm, shallow water with a consistent on shore wind and excellent equipment and personnel. In all of my windsurfing experiences have I ever seen anything so amazingly perfect. If only the island could get the thieves under control, I would rank it a ten instead of a seven.

Agreed Jeff...I feel horrid about your situation..please everyone:

leave valuables in safes
lock windows and doors and sliders

I wish Bonaire was paradise and we had no crime..but it's not reality...so let's all learn from others...
