I am planning to go windsurfing in bonaire late feb or some time in march. As I have some flexibility date wise, I wonder what the conditions will be like at that time or if I should rather go later in the year.
A wind statistics page I found on the web shows more or less the same wind feb/march/april - but the page only shows wind averaged over the month, so it is not very useful.
Any idea/past experience?

We go windsurfing in March each year and have been in late Feb. Your are right the wind is not much different in either. We have had times when it is very windy and times with no wind and in between. This is our 11 yr. and have found the wind impossible to predict. We just go and have a great time. There is plenty to do if the wind dies for a day.

We had a one week wind reversal from the north so we sailed up towards white hole ..past the nudies..it was a mob scene. Winds are light today and VERY shallow. Winds are back to normal as far as direction and are expected to pick up according to www.windguru.cz.

Jan-April seem unpredictable. Wind will be reliable and blowing hard late May/ early June, if you can go at that time. That is my experience from 1999 to 2003, and my local friend would concur. The wind dies in Aug/Sept and whenever there is a tropical storm in the Atlantic.

Have fun!

Is it generally better in the morning or the afternoon - trying to coordinate watching our children with windsurfing - so both wife and I get some kid free time.......
